Product Revisited: L`Occitane`s Repairing Shampoo

Earlier I posted a product review on LOccitanes Repairing shampooing Shampoo (300ml) that I bought during my Paris trip. At that point, I had been using the product for over a week which is a relatively short time to see true effect with any beauty products. Thus, I decided to do a follow up now, since I have finished the shampoo bottle a couple of weeks ago.

LOccitanes Repairing shampooing Shampoo has 5 essential oils which are angelica, lavender, geranium, ylang ylang and sweet orange, according to the packaging. It is said that the shampoo will help to repair dry, damaged, color-treated or chemically-treated hair. Its supposed to strengthen and regenerate your hair, while leaving it shiny and silky. I have somewhat damaged hair, since I do bleach my hair sometimes and quite rarely use heat on it. This is actually the reason why I decided to try a repairing shampoo on my hair.

After using solely this shampoo for a couple of months and not making other changes in my hair care routine, I did not notice any remarkable change in the condition of my hair. In the beginning, my hair seemed maybe a bit smoother, although it might be due to using less heat in my hair just before starting to use this shampoo. Even after I went back on my regular shampoo, I have noticed no changes in my hair condition.

Something that I disliked from the beginning and that continued to annoy me was the fact that the shampoo didnt foam very good. I felt that I needed to put bigger amount of product in my hair in order to clean it properly compared to normal shampoos. Therefore, I expected the bottle to run out faster, but it ended up lasting me longer than I thought. I also grew to really love the smell of the shampoo. Due to the essential oils, it felt like a spa treatment every time I showered. However, I agree with my earlier assesment that LOccitanes Repairing shampooing Shampoo doesnt work much better than other repairing shampoos. If you have already found a repairing shampoo that you like, stick with that shampoo and save your money. If you are still looking, I would urge to try something else, unless you are willing to invest money and not expecting too much from one product.
