Pica Taco Pork Carnitas Burrito
I was recently visiting Washington DC, where I spent a summer a few years back, and got a chance to go back to some of my favourite restaurants!
One of my favourite places to get authentic Mexican food is a place called Pica Taco. It`s a small `hole-in-the-wall` kind of place, and looking at it from the outside, you would probably pass by, not thinking twice.
In fact, I used to walk by this place every day since it`s just down the street from where I used to live, and never ventured inside. It was only in my last week that one of my friends actually suggested it since he frequented it often. That last week, I visited twice more after the initial visit since I liked it so much!
I made sure to stop by for some food on this trip. I ended up with a Pork Carnitas Burrito. It`s under 7 bucks, and it`s massive!
It has brown rice and black beans, and is also loaded with a ton of veggies. They also have this spicy sauce that sorta reminds me of creamy salsa verde that they serve on the side. They also have a regular salsa verde but I prefer the creamy one.
All in all, they have some great food and decent prices.
If you are ever in the area and feeling really hungry they also have a 4 pound burrito challenge! But considering I struggle to finish the one regular sized one, I don`t think I would ever try it :P
