I never thought nature could get any more beautiful until I saw this place. Point Lobos is peaceful....beautiful...almost majestic. . .
My husband and I needed a break. Not a break from each other but a break from our town, our daily routines, and stress. Since we only had two days to enjoy, we decided to go somewhere not too far from where we live. We decided on Carmel which is less than 3 hours away. Carmel is located right next to the beautiful Monterrey. There might not be a huge nightlife there but what attracts tourists to this beautiful town is their beautiful views. There are a ton of beaches and lakes that surround this area and each one is as beautiful as the next. But the biggest beauty of them all is Point Lobos State Reserve. When we got to the top of the hill and took our first look of the place we gasped. The views were breathtaking, and the sound of water brought us the peace we very much needed. We didn`t want to leave.....we could stay here forever, but the fact the it was freezing cold and we both forgot our jackets made us not be able to handle staying here for more than two hours.
I took a few pictures but they don`t do this place justice. I guess it`s just one of those places you just have to see for yourself. This was my first visit to Monterrey/Carmel but I really hope to come back soon. There are many things to do here. There a ton of nice restaurants (we had Thai food at Pacific Thai), beaches, spas, wine, shops, etc. and you can also visit the Monterrey Aquarium. So if you are looking for a low key relaxing weekend this is where you should visit. We wish we could of stayed here for a few more days but my hubby only had these two days off from work.
Have you ever been to Monterrey or Carmel? if so, what did you enjoy doing here?
