I`ve posted some things about my amazing trip this summer - I got a chance to go to Australia, Indonesia and Armenia.
And I was also able to pick up some cool things during my travels. My favourite piece that I picked up this summer is this pocket watch.
It`s actually a fully functioning watch, and came with a chain so bought to wear as a necklace.
I found this piece while roaming the outdoor market called `Vernisage` in Yerevan, Armenia. This outdoor market is super popular and known as the go to spot to get souvenirs for tourists. It is filled with stands where people sell their hand-made products and other goods. There is also a large section where artists sell original artwork.
However, `Vernisage` started from much humbler beginnings where people would gather almost like a yard sale and sell items from their home. And some areas of vernisage still feature those kinds of items (the market itself is quite large).
There are lots of people who sell old items like watches, cameras, typewriters etc - basically a hipster`s paradise! Lol.
This is where I found the pocket watch. My friend was looking at the old cameras when I spot this on the table. I loved it and was able to bring the guy down from 25 bucks closer to 15 and I was sold.
I`ve already worn in multiple times and have had so many friends offering to buy it off me, but I love it too much! It`s a great statement piece, and believe it or not, I actually use it to tell the time! Lol
