I feel like every neon nail polish post I put up, I have to put a disclaimer that the images are not showing it as glowing as bright as it really is. That is true for this polish. While it isn`t as retina sizzling as some of the other colors, this one is much brighter than it appears. This is a very in-your-face berry neon. This was something of a wild card for me as I don`t typically enjoy this type of color but I`m so glad I still picked it up because I absolutely love it on! Very Violet dried down to a nearly matte finish. Because I`m not a huge fan of matte finished polish, I added a top coat to bring it to a glossy finish. This made it semi-jelly finished. It doesn`t have quite as strong of a squishy look to it as some other neon polishes I have top coated, but still not a creme finish either. Very Violet seemed to apply smoother than Coral Cabana. This one gave me a bit more time to get it on and wasn`t drying up as quick. That pleased me because it gave me a cleaner, nicer application, which produces an all around better manicure. I am enjoying the color options for the current Pixi collection, BUT there are two things that kind of get at me with them. The first being the amount of product. You are paying for about half the product of something like an OPI or Essie yet the price is the same. The next is the wear time. I noticed on both Coral Cabana and Very Violet that within 24 hours I have some small chipping. I do realize that as a wife and mother I am hard on my hands but my other polishes can stand up to my beatings for at least 48 before they show signs of wear...most more than that. When I see chipping the same day I paint them, I get a bit irked. I don`t know...maybe I`m just being crazy because I DO know that all my neons don`t last very long.. just part of their nature, I suppose.
