Have you guys ever heard of or tried pholourie (pronounced pa-loor-ee)? It`s considered a Trinidadian street food but you can find them anywhere even at weddings! My mom makes these from time to time and it`s fairly easy. All you need to make them is the pholourie mix which is basically split peas powder, add water and maybe any other seasonings you may want and then deep fry them until golden brown. You can eat pholourie on it`s own but it tastes even better with a mango chutney sauce. I eat them with hot sauce =].
