Perkins Breakfast

Thursday morning we had to make a trip for my son to have scans done and he wasn`t allowed to eat anything 8 hours before. Well, once the scans were over myself, my husband, and our son were all starving! We decided to stop off at Perkins and have breakfast. My son was wanting pancakes, and since he did so well for the doctors, we let him pick the place.

I typically get a meal that has bacon, hash browns, eggs, and pancakes (yeah, a lot of food!) but this time I decided I was going to walk on the wild side (haha, yeah...REAL wild, Lyndsay! LOL) and try something different. I got the Country Cookin` Benedict. Their menu says it has "savory sausage patties and American cheese, topped with two basted eggs, cream gravy, a sprinkle of American cheese and diced tomatoes." I chose to have hashbrowns instead of the breakfast potatoes, this time. You could choose to have pancakes, toast, or a muffin come with it. I chose the muffin. I got their banana nut flavor. I`m a sucker for banana bread, so I figured this would be a good choice. I also got a cup of coffee.

Man was it good! I don`t think this has become my new go-to on their menu but I liked it enough that at some point I`d like to order it again. The muffin I was very impressed with. It had lots of big chunks of nuts running through the entire muffin and it was brought to me piping hot, like it just came out of the oven. Slather some melted butter on it and, my goodness, it was heaven!

I didn`t photograph the boys` meals because I`m certain they already think I`m a bit crazy for taking pictures of my meal... But my son just had pancakes with bacon and chocolate milk and my husband had something similar to me, but it had chicken instead of the sausage and didn`t have tomatoes on it.
