I`ve been going back and forth from my house and my apartment at school quite a bit this summer. I love going out to stay in my apartment because there`s a pool, gym, and the town is fantastic (it is a college town, after all lol!). But, the downside to only visiting my apartment is that there really isn`t a lot of food to eat. So I decided to go through the cabinets and see what food was left from the schoolyear and I found some boxes of pasta! Score! Then I realized we had some garlic and butter in the fridge, so I figured I`d make a garlic butter sauce for the pasta :)
I started off by melting the butter in a saucepan. I began boiling the water for the pasta, too, so that the pasta and sauce would be done at the same time. When the butter melted down, I added some garlic and let that heat up a bit to infuse the butter with the garlic flavor. I added the rotini pasta to the boiling water and let it cook. When the pasta and sauce were both done, I drained the pasta and then added it right into the saucepan to mix the sauce into it (instead of pouring the sauce over it). Once it was all mixed it, I plated it and enjoyed! :D
It was delicious! I`m happy I made my own dinner instead of ordering out (saving money! lol) and I also used up the remainder of a box of pasta, so that means less stuff taking up room in our cabinets when my roommates and I officially move back in for this coming school year. It was a win-win, lol!
