I cooked this favorite for dinner last night. Italian style braised veal shanks with tomatoes, carrots, celery, onions, garlic and white wine. It`s topped off with a gremolata (garlic, fresh parsley, and lemon zest.) This is a time consuming dish which is very worth the effort. The meat comes out so tender, it falls apart with the touch of a fork. The vegetables are always my very favorite part. They soak up all the juices from the meat and wine. I served this with a side of creamy Saffron Risotto. wine veal dinner
