Origins Clear Improvement Mask Review

What it is: A facial mask made with Active Charcoal, China Clay, and Lecithin.

Description from Origin`s site: When environmental toxins, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature`s complexion clean-up crew gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that "stuff" down there, skin "breathes a sigh of relief."

I have had this mask for about a month and I use it about once or twice a week, depending if I`m feeling "clogged". I have never tried any other masks before, with the exception of Proactiv`s Refining Mask, which stank terribly. After all these years of makeup on my face, regular cleansers weren`t doing the job for me and I would get whiteheads around the sides of my nose. Didn`t want those to turn into blackheads...

How to Use:

In order to use this, you`ll need to remove any makeup you may have on your face. Then splash your face with some warm/hot water or layer on a hot cloth to open up your pores. Then apply some of the product onto your dampened skin and allow it to dry. I like to leave it on for at least 15 minutes. When it dries, you will feel your face tighten and stiff. It`s kind of fun to make yourself smile or raise your brows with the mask on. The product color is grey and your face will be grey as well. When dried, the product feels almost chalky, but it won`t rub off on your fingers if you tried to. When time is up, rinse well with water. I like to follow this with a small amount of cleanser.

Initial Impressions:

After using this for the first time, my skin immediately felt like it can breathe. My skin felt smooth, especially on my cheeks. I have normal/combination skin, with breakouts occurring on my forehead, chin, sides of nose, basically my T-zone area.

A month later, I am still using this product and the tube still looks full! I use a generous amount of product each time, making sure that there is a clear layer of grey on my face. I`ve used this on troublesome zits by dabbing it on a pimple and leaving it on overnight. Along with my regular Proactiv routine, I feel like it has helped in maintaining a clearer face. I feel that it has helped loosened the dirt and allows for cleanser to do its job.

The best part is that it doesn`t smell like rotten eggs!! As I have mentioned, I have tried Proactiv`s mask and it smells like pure rotten eggs or sulfur.

Bottom line:
At $22, the Origins Clear Improvement Mask is worth it as one tube will last you a good while. It has a scent that is manageable and I have not had any adverse effects while using this.

I always feel pampered when I use masks for some reason. What are some ways you like to pamper yourself?
