Hey dolls, this post is on a new OPI Mariah Carey Collection that recently came out. I have to say that i`m still not too sure how I feel about this collection and so I only picked up three of the polishes, for me it just doesn`t live up to the past January collections (the Katy Perry & Nicki Minaj colections). It features four "studio" shades and four "stage shade" glitters which feature the new "liquid sand" finish. So anyway lets get to it...
"A Butterfly Moment" is a frosty nude rosey pink shade with a peachy tint and very fine golden shimmer. I really like this polish, it`s extremely pretty. The fromula was nice and two coats made it opaque.
"Pink Yet Lavender" has pinky/lavender hexagonal glitter with micro holographic glitter suspended in a clear base. This is the one glitter that I knew I wanted from the promo pics and it is really beautiful. This is the only glitter in the collection that does not feature the "liquid sand" finish therefore it is not an opaque glitter and is really meant for layering. I found the formula pretty easy to work with, and I used one coat.
"Can`t Let Go" is part of the liquid sand line and is a grape purple micro glitter base with some larger hexagonal pinky/purple glitter. Now I have to say that i`m still not sure about these iquid sand polishes, in some lights I don`t like it and in others I love it. In the sunlight is where this polish really shines and the glitters light up, peeking through the matte finish. The formula was good and I used three coats to get it opaque. Also a plus, the liquid sand finish seems to last longer than other glitter polishes. I found that this polish lasted a good three days without chipping.
So all in all I am very happy with the polishes that I got from this collection. As I mentioned I am still not completely sold on the liquid sand finish however I am happy I picked one up and I do recommend giving it a try. So what do you dolls think? Did you get anything from this collection???
