I am still in the mood for non typical summer colors, so I pulled out one that I haven`t worn yet. This is OPI`s I`m Not Really A Waitress. I first saw my grandmother in law wearing it and the only reason I can even remember that is because she thought the name was an absolute hoot. It was some time after that, though, before I went out and bought it. I am extremely picky about red polish but when I find a good one I`m just entranced by it. This happens to be one of those that I can`t stop looking at. The particular color of red it is probably wouldn`t do anything for me if it were a creme finish. The microshimmers in it, however, give it dimension. It has an almost glowing quality about it. Apparently, I`m Not Really A Waitress is OPI`s number one selling nail polish. I mean, I know OPI likes pinks and reds, but for this one to be their best seller is interesting to me. I have seen others say that this reminds them of old Hollywood Starlets. I can definitely agree with that. It does have that fancy, sexy old Hollywood vibe to it. It is no wonder OPI released it with their 1999 Hollywood collection for fall. It fits the bill, no? Application was easy and smooth with this polish. Everything you could possible want in your polish application this one delivered. It was like applying butter. It smoothed it self over nicely and even in the first coat had fabulous pigmentation. While this is probably more appropriate for fall and winter, I have no problems wearing it in August :-) Its a beauty! -If you enlarge some of the photos you`ll be able to see the shimmers better. --The first two photos are taken under natural daylight and the rest were taken indoors under artificial lighting.
