A huge museum devoted to the Titanic in Belfast opened its doors on Saturday, just days before the centenary of the sinking of this ship, built in the British province of Northern Ireland.
The shipyards of Belfast have worked for three years in boat building, the largest in the world at the time, and ten months in its interior design.
Several political figures from Northern Ireland, as a witness the launch of the ship in 1911, were present at the opening of the center.
"My father and my mother took me to the shipyard of Workman and Clark to see its launch," said Cyril Quigley, who is now 105 years.
"I saw this huge thing slide into the water. He was only four and a half," said this retired accountant.
The Titanic sank on her maiden voyage from Southhampton (UK) New York, after having collided with an iceberg on the night of April 15, 1912. The wreck left over 1,500 dead of 2200 passengers.
The new museum dedicated to the ship does not have the time objects. Everything is new, rebuilt as the original furniture to tableware, and special effects and experiences in third dimension takes the visitor to the legend.
