Oh October! How I love thee! I really do. Once October hits I feel like I am finally at my favorite point of the year: the cooler months. I love the holidays, I love the colors, the cool air... I don`t think there is anything I dislike. Speaking of holidays, though, the first one to hit is Halloween. For the October Julep Maven Box, they`ve included very spooky colors of polish. They`re dark and sexy and perfect for October manicures. I selected the It-Girl box because it had colors that most appealed to me. I find that most of the time that is the box I go for. I wasn`t disappointed. When I opened up the box they had the usual little cards that have a quote to live by, a bit about the polish and how you can wear the colors... but this month they added candy corn (YAY!!!! I love me some candy corn!) and two small jars of nail glitter in an orange and a black. The black is more of a dark charcoal...but it works fine for the theme they`re going for. I LOVE THIS BOX! Ah, I can`t forget the lovely polishes, but I`ll get to that in a minute. First are the beautiful nail glitters. Look at the sparkle! Mesmerizing, no? I feel all giddy about this box and maybe it is just because I`ve been ready for fall and all that comes with it for many months now. I`m excited to use these babies in some Halloween manicures. The It Girl box comes with three nail polishes. This month they included a crackle into most boxes. I believe they did create a special box with no crackles because so many people said they were disappointed. I`ll be honest, I`m not a crackle fan, but I really wanted the other two colors in this box. The first polish is the crackle. It is called Glenda and it is a silver crackle. When crackle was big I bought the silver OPI crackle, so I`m not really over the moon about this one. The second polish is Leslie and it is a blackened gunmetal base with silver flecks running through it. I`m loving this one. The final polish is the one I was most looking forward to. It is called Caroline. It is a deep, rich, rusty red that shimmers something fierce. AHHH, BEAUTIFUL AND VAMPY! I`ll say it again. This box was perfect for October and Halloween. It has a dangerous, vampiric feel to it. You`ll definitely be seeing these polishes in some upcoming manicures. I felt the glitter and the candy corns were a perfect touch to finish off this box. It was something unexpected, too. Yes, many months we get some kind of candy but I was especially pleased to see the added glitter. Am I pleased? YES!
