Oatmeal has been known to be great for skin when applied topically that`s why it`s in so many beauty products. I found out that it`s good for the skin when internally too as in eating it.
I started eating old fashion plain oatmeal (not instant artifically favored stuff) everyday. I would make a big bowl of it because I tend to skip lunch or eat it really late. So, I didn`t want to be hungry. I would mix it with a small piece of 72% or 86% dark chocolate for some flavor and a banana or raw almonds.
After about a month, I noticed that my skin has gotten better. I haven`t had a break out or even one pimple for a month. I always have atleast ONE pimple, if not more...but not in the last month. Even during my period, I didn`t get a pimple. WOW, really? Yes!
Well, we all know oatmeal is loaded with fiber but I did some research and it turns out that oatmeal is loaded with antioxidants. It boosts your immune system and stablizes blood sugar. I think that`s the key for me. It stablizes my blood sugar. This means that eating foods high on the glycemic index won`t make my blood sugar spike and causes your body to demand more insulin which is BAD for your entire body including your skin!
