NYC Palette Review

This is one of the items that I received in my Beauty Blogger VoxBox thanks to Influenster. Basically, it`s an "all-in-one compact that comes with everything you need for a complete eye look: primer, illuminator, applicator, and complementing shadows. With four colors specially coordinated to intensify and enhance your eye color, you can create a look as individual as you are. Make your eyes pop!"

The colors that come in this palette are super pretty. I like that they include neutrals with a pop of color (a beautiful plum shade, no less-perfect for fall!). I also really like the quilted pattern.

Each eyeshadow feels very soft and silky to the touch, and are quite pigmented. The primer and illuminator feel very smooth like butter-a nice consistency. Both nicely pigmented as well.

These are the shadows without primer (illuminator on top). As I said, they`re fairly pigmented on their own, which is great. They are easily buildable too. They go on smoothly, and don`t crease.

I had to test the primer with these shadows. Honestly, I was skeptical because I`m not a fan whatsoever of drugstore eye primer. I`d rather invest in higher end ones like Too Faced, Beneft, and Urban Decay. So with low expectations of this primer, I really wasn`t expecting much...but it definitely ended up proving me wrong.

Like I said, the primer is actually very buttery soft, which I like. When swatched, it appeared very pigmented, which I was surprised by, but pleased nonetheless. It looks sort of yellowish in the pan, but it actually applies kind of a subtle-ish white, which I really liked!

With the primer applied, the shadows appear even more pigmented, rich, and vibrant.

I was even more impressed with the primer the longer I wore it on my eyes that day as it didn`t fade or slide off nor did it crease my eyeshadows. So it`s great quality. The primer alone is worth $3.99 lol

The illuminator is one thing I probably won`t be using, but it`s not because it`s bad. It`s actually really pretty, buttery-soft, and pigmented as well. It`s just too iridescent for my liking, that`s all :)

Overall, I think this is a great value for the price, and I`d recommend!

Stay tuned for my next post where I`ll be showing you a makeup look using these colors! I`ll also provide a pictorial on how to achieve the look. **Quick thing to note: the light brown in the palette is a great dupe for Urban Decay`s Buck eyeshadow. Post on that coming soon too**

Thanks for visiting and reading :)
