Whenever I go down to my local drugstore, I always find myself walking away from the NYC rack. I feel like their make-up is probably terrible quality since the prices are so cheap compared to other drugstore products.
Recently, I got a chance to try out their new Up to 8 Hour City Proof Glosses from NYCs Spring line for 2012. They retail for about $3.49 each. I tried 4 different colors. The second picture has both the watches and the name of the glosses.
My favorite one by far was probably Cherry Ever After. I like it the most since it has the least glitter. Im not really a fan of glitter, but when you apply Gold With Me it looks gorgeous. You have to try it on to see what I mean. The glittery flecks give off a nice shine that makes your lips so kissable! Hehe. Even though the lip gloss is pretty cheap, it still has kokum butter, jojoba oil, and antioxidants in the formula. Its not sticky although the 8 Hour title wasnt a winner. Even though it was pigmented, I did have to re-apply during the day.
The best part is that this didnt peel my lips. Usually, drugstore lip products leave your lips peels and the corners start turning white (not trying to gross anyone out), but Im sure weve all experienced it.
All in all, my experience with these glosses was okay. Youre definitely getting more than what you pay for although I suggest you put on a lip primer before you put these glosses on if you want an intensified lip color.
