I have been really into glitter polishes for a while now, and whenever I do my nails now I always either put Essie Shine of the Times over it or Essie Set in Stones. I acquired these polishes over the winter holiday, and I have been really in love with them! I am trying to test out all the different combinations to see what looks best, and it has been fun experimenting with Shine of the Times.
This nail of the week is a combination of China Glaze`s CG in the City and Essie Shine of the Times. CG in the City is a sparkly purple glitter polish with fine silver and purple glitters, all of the glitters are a uniform size and shape. Essie Shine of the Times is from the Essie Luxe Effects collection, and it is a polish with flakes that reflects all different colors.
To achieve this effect, first I put three layers of CG in the City on each nail. Now that might seem like a lot, but these are thin layers; this polish is more on the sheer side, so it`s better to apply thin ever layers. Then I put one coat of Essie Shine of the Times on top, and finally sealed everything together with a Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat. If you don`t put a top coat over this, it will feel a little gritty.
Pictures really could not do this justice, it reflects really pretty in the light, almost like a rainbow!
Do you own either of these polishes? What do you think of this combination?
