Remember to click the pictures for the best quality & clarity (: Hey Luuux! It`s been a week since I`ve painted my nails, and since I just picked up a new glitter top coat from ELF (/viz/elf-haul-upcoming-giveaway-news), I thought I`d give it a try :D I`ve wanted a flaky top coat for the longest, so I was pretty excited to see the outcome! Keep reading for details on what polishes I used :) ____________________________________________________________________
Essie All-In-One Base Coat: As usual, I applied 1 coat of this before applying any other polish.
OPI Nail Lacquer in `We`ll Always Have Paris`: I applied 2 coats of this. The 2 coats of this are seen alone in the 2nd picture (on top). As you can see, it`s has a very opaque, glossy finish! I absolutely love this color for the Fall/Winter, and the OPI formulation is perfect :D
ELF Essential Glitter Nail Polish in `Fairy Dust`: I really love how this looks over the dark wine color! The holographic flake glitters are gorgeous when they reflect different colors in the light! They change colors from orange to green to red and yellow :) It`s really stunning! There are some things I didn`t like about the polish though: 1) the formulation is a little goopy, 2) it has a very dry, matte-looking finish, and 3) it has an intense chemical smell :( Other than that, I think it`s a great affordable alternative to Essie`s `Shine of the Times` or Sally Hansen`s `Hidden Treasure` :D
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat: To fix the dry, unhealthy looking finish, I just added 1 coat of Seche Vite :) Total life saver and it makes your mani last so much longer :D ____________________________________________________________________ That`s it for this NOTD post! :) I know looks like these are pretty common, but I really wanted to have a go at the flaky top coat to see how much I liked it! I actually love the outcome of the nail look, and can`t wait to try `Fairy Dust` over other colors :D
Tell Me: What do you think of this nail look? Do you have `Fairy Dust` or a different holographic flaky top coat? If so, which one do you have and what colors do you like using it over? Let me know in your comments down below! :D
