Work has been pretty stressful for the past 2 weeks and over the next 3 months, it will just get more stressful.
One of the things that happens when I get stressed is insomnia. It actually runs in my family.
So at 4 am this morning, I was wide awake and I was tossing and turning until 5:30 am, then I`ve had enough.
I decided to just go for a run before the sun went up.
I was able to squeeze a 5 KM run this morning, which actually did a lot of good for my body. I feel more energized and less stressed out. I`ve also burned 300 calories doing so.
Any type of cardio exercise helps boost your mind, mood and body. It`s been 2 hours and I still have the runner`s high.
I will probably do this more often as the days roll by, especially now that the sun comes up later on in the morning.
