NOTD (V-Day Nails)

Hi everyone! This post has been delayed for a few days since this week has been quite busy due to midterms and papers. Oh, the joy of being a university student. But thank goodness Reading Week starts tomorrow! I am sorry for my absence, but I will try to put up a few posts that I have been meaning to put up. So without further ado, these are my nails for Valentines Day.

What I used:

-Base Coat: Seche Vite Natural. This is absolutely my favourite base coat by far. This polish dries within 1-2 minutes. Great if you are in a rush.

-Base Colour: Gosh 543 Pink Rose. This is a bright pink creme polish. My camera did not do a great job at picking up how bright this polish is. It looks more coral like in the pictures than pink; this is false. I was quite shocked to as how bright it really was. In the bottle, I thought it would be more of a bubble gum pink, but not really in my opinion. It is not bright enough to be a neon pink, but it is way brighter than your standard pink polish. I applied 3 or 4 coats for each nail. The application for this polish was terrible. I was surprised as to how streaky this polish was! I have heard so many great things about Gosh polishes, but unfortunately I was disappointed. I currently have 3 polishes by Gosh, but have not used any of them besides Pink Rose. Hopefully the other 2 will not disappoint me!

- First Glitter Polish: Katy Perry OPI Teenage Dream. I applied 2 coats to each nail. This is a holographic glitter polish that came out back at the beginning of 2011; collaboration of Katy Perry and OPI. This is a sheer glitter polish that is great for layering. This polish has micro silver glitter, and the bigger chunks are holographic. This is my favourite polish from her collection.

-Second Glitter Polish: I applied 3 coats of Cover Girl Boundless Color Nail Sparkle Top Coat in 410 Amethyst Mist on my ring finger. This polish contains micro and chunky glitter. The chunky glitter are more flakie like than holographic. The colour of the micro glitter is blue. You can somewhat see the difference between the two glitters from the pictures.

-Top Coat: Seche Vite. I applied 1 coat to each nail. This polish dries in 5-7 minutes. All of the Seche Vite products dry very fast. It is highly recommend for those who want pretty nails but are in a rush.

I hope you enjoyed my nails for Valentines Day. I did have a hard time deciding what I wanted to do. But this look was done on the spur of the moment. I am quite happy on how it turned out, but was disappointed in how streaky the application of the Gosh Pink Rose polish was.

Did you paint your nails for Valentines Day? Did you wear pink or red or white polish?
