NOTD: Lisa Frank Watercolors

I happened across a post from a couple of months ago by where she did a watercolor manicure. It immediately became one that I had to recreate. Sooo, that is exactly what I have done. And let me say, this is one I`ll be doing again (probably in the summer). I can`t stop looking at my nails! They`re just so fun!
SELECTED COLORS: Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power Essie Mezmerised CND Electric Purple This is an amazingly easy manicure to do. You start by laying down your base color of white. This will help keep the overlay of colors vibrant. Then you swipe on your top coat. Allow your polish to dry. Once it is dry go back in with your selected colors. You can use as many or as few colors as you`d like. You dot them on and with a larger nail brush dipped in acetone, you pat over the colors. The acetone kind of takes away and waters down the colors, thus giving it that swirled watercolor effect. I decided before sealing with my final top coat that I would add a layer of holo glitter. I used China Glaze Fairy Dust. It really reminds me of something you`d see on Lisa Frank stationary or other products with her designs. I can remember when I was little myself and my older sister had a lot of Lisa Frank notebooks, stationary sets, pencil bags, etc. Once year for Christmas we asked just for Lisa Frank itemsand my goodness, we had an abundance already. I dont really know if her stuff is as popular anymore, but man it was big when I was young. I still enjoy looking at her art. It is just so bright and cheery! Definitely what I need with the gloomy weather we`ve had. I can take the cold of winter..heck, I love winter.. but we`d had a lot of just flat grey days and the others are rainy :-( I think I am going to try this method again but with a monochromatic theme or many ideas running right now!
