Awhile back before it hit spring I stocked up on some brighter polishes to prepare me for when the season came so I picked u Super bossa Nova from Essies Braziliant collection. I didnt expect this one to be this bright! Essie describes it as an upbeat bright fuchsia; this is pretty accurate in my opinion.
This polish had some purple shimmer to it, youll see it in the bottle but it loses the purple once its on the nails. Itll just become a HOT pink with shimmers which took me awhile to get used to. In fact I couldnt at first so I used China Glazes techno for the first time and layered one coat onto the ring finger. I liked it more after that. My pictures arent taking a better picture of techno but I liked them two paired together, it tones things down a little.
My mum really likes this one though. I think my mums colour wheel only consists of pink and reds LOL Shes complimented other colours before but they never interest her as much as those two do.
Formula on this was pretty good. I think best so far? (Dont remember again. Gah. Losing my memory fast) It was really opaque in one coat and if youre careful with your application you could just make do with that coat but I managed to leave some spaces out. I used 2 to be safe and damn, super opaque. Whilst painting I did notice it dried a little fast so the first few nails felt like I was dragging the brush across, once you load your brush with the right amount its fine. It stained my nails a teeeeeeny bit but I wasnt surprised considering how bright it was.
The sun was out that day so I took a few off them in outside. Brightness overload! Now that were seeing a bit more of the sunshine Ill be taking some NOTW outside too :D
What do you guys think of super bossa nova? Do you own this polish or the others from that collection?
