Could not resist repainting my nails today! Essie Set in Stones has definitely become an addiction for me. I LOVE THIS POLISH!
This combination is of Zoya`s Gaia (white with rainbow reflective shimmers), Essie Shine of the Times, and Essie`s Set in Stones. To achieve this effect, first I put on two coats of Zoya`s Gaia. This is typically a very sheer polish and not very opaque, but for the purposes of this nail look it works perfectly! After the two coats dried, I applied one thin layer of Essie`s Shine of the Times, a flaky polish that reflects really beautiful colors! And finally I applied Essie`s Set in Stones mostly to the tips, I went for a sort of glitter gradient effect.
When you apply the glitters, you`ll want to wipe the excess off the brush at the rim of the bottle. Then apply a thin coat of the glitter polish. I would suggest starting from the tip of the nail going down, this way you have as little glitter towards the bottom as possible. Then repeat this process with another thin layer of Set in Stones, this time only apply it to half of the nail; again start at the tip of the nail. Finally, apply one last coat only to the tip and a little bit down the sides, near the cuticles, so that way the gradient will look more natural. You`ll want to use a thicker coat for this final coat.
This reminds me so much of snow and the holidays, I probably will do this again in December!
What do you think? Do you like this gradient effect with the glitters?
