Penny Talk is one of the shades from the new Essie Mirror Metallics collection. It is a metallic copper/rose gold. This is the only shade that I bought from the collection, so I don`t have any of the others to show you.
I used two coats of Penny Talk. The formula was kind of weird. It was really opaque, but whenever I went over an area that already had polish, it would pull it off and become kind of thick and gunky at the same time. Because of that, I would recommend doing a thin first coat and letting it dry a bit before adding a second coat. You have to be careful with the brushstrokes as well. You`ll probably want to use a shiny top coat with this because it does not dry to a glossy finish on its own. I used Seche Vite. I applied Seche Rebuild nail treatment to my bare nails last night and then painted the Essie on top today, so that kind of acted as my base coat.
I`m not completely sure how I feel about this polish yet. I don`t think it goes very well with my skin tone, so I`ll probably have to give it some time to grow on me. So far, I prefer Orly Rage over Essie Penny Talk.
I got this for $8 at Walgreens. There are four other shades in this collection.
