NOTD: Ballet Slipper Turquoise Nails

This is an older nail of the day, from back in May! I actually have a lot of pictures stocked up and ready to post from when I took that almost month long break :) I have neglected to post a lot of things, but I`m on an inspiration blogging binge, so HELLO!

I borrowed this nail idea from a nail design my friend did on her nails. We were doing are nails, and I painted my nails in For Audrey by China Glaze. That was all I had intended to do. Then I saw her doing these beautiful ballet slipper nails! I didn`t want to copy her exactly, so I just copied the part I liked best; the straps! I love the ribbon straps on ballet shoes, it screams elegance. I decided to change the lines into dots; that was my added twist ;) They don`t look like ballet slippers, but they were inspired by them!

STEP 1: Paint your nails with a baby blue or turquoise color.
STEP 2: Apply a fast dry top coat. You can skip this step if you don`t mind the wait. Your nails have to be completely dry before adding the dots.
STEP 3: Use a dark blue or black nail polish to dip on the dots. Start drawing the dots from the top left to bottom right.
STEP 4: Then draw dots from top right to top left making sure your new dotted lines intersect evenly through the older lines. I suggest doing it this way to ensure the design doesn`t go off the nail, and the lines will look straighter and neater.
STEP 5: You can either do a french tip or a moon tip line. It`s up to you! It pulls the design together.
STEP 6: Apply top coat. You can add a glitter top coat for some bling bling!

What do you think of this design? Do you like the colors I chose?
