NOTD: Aquatic Florals

My son is going into surgery Friday morning so I decided I would do a manicure that was serene, quite calming. I didn`t want anything wild and crazy on my fingers. I`m quite anxious so anything I can do to create a sense of calm, I`m on board. I went with mints and blues for this manicure. The only three colors I used are Revlon`s Minted, Sally Hansen`s Color Quick pen in Turquoise Chrome, and Sinful Color`s Nail Junkie. Nail Junkie really ties the colors of the Revlon & Sally Hansen polish colors together nicely. I started by painting my nails in two coats of Revlon Minted. I have had this polish for some time and it is still one of my favorite minty polishes. Next, I stamped on the flowers with the Sally Hansen Chrome pen and one of my Konad plates. Then, I used the same pen to brush a bit at the tips to sort of fade the flowers into a blue smoke or a pool of water. The last step was to take a tiny bit of Sinful Color`s Nail Junkie and brush that on at the tips to create some glimmer and shine. The glitter in that polish is beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Of course, I always (well, 98% of the time) use Sally Hansen Hard as Nails for my base and Seche Vite for my top coat. I love this manicure not only because of the calming colors and delicate flowers, but I really enjoy the different finishes throughout the design. The base is a cream, then the flowers are chrome, and the very tips are glittery. It is very fun for the eye to work it`s way through the different layers there. I think it is probably more prominent in person, though, and isn`t translating as nicely in the photos. Just trust me when I say it is pretty dang amazing to look at in person.
