So i`m a pretty nontraditional college student, well i`m a traditional student I just don`t partake in usual college things, like the Ramen noodle diet. I can`t stand Ramen noodles at least not plain i`ve only ever eaten them a few times and I always add things like fresh shallots or soy sauce and lemon juice! Just a few things to spruce it up!
Well this is my Dinner from last Friday night.
Pan seared pork chops with a shallot pan sauce, Green bean casserole and Mac`n Cheese (shaped like Phineas and Ferb).
It was delicious!
All i did was get a pan hot add some butter and sear up the pork chops, near the end of their cooking I added a chopped shallot.
For the Green Bean casserole instead of using traditional cream of mushroom soup, I add Cream of mushroom with roasted garlic. It adds another dimension of flavor! it`s not over powering or too strong, but it adds a little something extra to the dish.
And for the mac`n cheese I use Kraft. I was raised on Kraft mac`n cheese and i can`t stand any other brand, and I always eat the shaped because they make the pasta taste better. I`m serious.
Anyway this year i`ve decided only to cook on Saturday nights from now on and to eat in the cafeteria the rest of the time. This way I can reduce my grocery bill and save some extra cash for other things like Disney World.
What kind of food did you eat in college?
