Nokia make a loss of 1.3 billion Euros

Nokia reported financial results that reflect what has happened with the Finnish manufacturer, sales fell 29% in the first quarter of 2012.

Nokia is a complicated situation and even the leadership in the mobile phone is concerned, the Samsung can move to lead.

However, this damage is due to the huge joint venture Nokia Siemens Networks, which Reuters had indicated that it would lay off 17,000 people by 2013, however Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia, does not confirm any dismissals, though to indicate that you may have to reduce costs to balance.

Nokia Siemens Networks has a loss of 772 million euros, which is a good part of the losses of the Finnish manufacturer. The mobile, high-profit share from Nokia, there are big losses. Nokia generated less than 32% profit on sales of mobile phones, compared with the same period, while 52% of lost profits on smartphones.

However Nokia`s bet remains the Lumia line and partnership with Microsoft. Nokia states that the difficulty is in some countries like the UK, where there was the expected sales and China, where Nokia has lost 70%.

Nokia announced that it had sold over 2 million smartphones Lumia, however, still far from large competitors such as Apple or Samsung.
