New make-up trend! Berrylicious!

Im all for trying new looks with make-up, its amazing what you can create! People often stick with what they are used to. I do too sometimes- I always seem come back to brown eyeshadow (Sable, by Mac in case you are wondering!)

I do however, follow all the beauty trends. Im a huge fan of make-up, and all beauty products in general. I have boxes and boxes of slap at home!I used to be a Beauty Intern which I loved so much before I got into fashion writing. I actually did a course at the London School of Beauty and Make-up a few years ago in my spare time, so I like to think I know what im talking about ;)

My favourite brands are Mac, Chanel, Benefit, Loreal and No17 at Boots, so not just the high end brands.

If you are going to experiment with the newest beauty trends, my advice is to take the plunge and practice practice! Make up should be fun and not taken too seriously, just be brave and try something new!You can always wash it off and start again.

Its great to do something different to your eyes, lips etc, especially when your on a night out, its the one time you can be dramatic with your face. Daytime seems the wrong time to experiment- daylight is very harsh, keep that in mind if you are using bright colours.

Anyway! Berry coloured lips have been in fashion for ages now, and although Im quite partial to red lips, a dark berry shade is much more daring. So I decided, (after much dithering!) to give it a go! I brought a few cheaper brands, simply because if it looked hideous I wouldn`t have spent all my dosh.

My fave was by Sleek- True Colour lipstick in Cherry, £4.00 which i think you will agree is a bargain! Its quite matte, which I loved, and such a rich intense colour. For a glossy finish I added Barry M`s lipgloss in Strawberry Milkshake, £4.49. I quite like the effect. You can see from my pic, I have kept the rest of my make-up simple, as everybody knows that defined lips and eyes is a beauty no no- defiantly drag queen territory!Or, Katie Price, same difference really.
Barry M is available nationwide, and Sleek is available at Superdrug, or online at
