Last year, I was researching between EMU and UGGs. Both look exactly the same and the two brands use similar materials.
I chose EMU over UGGs over one specific feature. EMUs themselves were waterproof. You didn`t have to spray them, the leather outside was actually waterproof.
I owned both EMUs and UGGs before and prior to last year, my boots always got soaked from the slush, sleet, hail, snow and rain. So I was very skeptical at first when I got them, since the boots look exactly the same. However, I was willing to try it since buying the EMUs directly from EMU in Australia was cheaper than buying UGGs in store. Mostly because Canadians in Toronto have to pay a 13% tax rate on most items, including clothing. And when you buy from the site, you didn`t have to pay taxes, duties or shipping so the end price was the same.
The only problem I had with the EMUs was that the sole was not geared towards people with high archs. They have a removable insoles but they weren`t ergonomic. So I stuck mine underneath theirs and they were perfect. They also aren`t as warm was UGGs I found but the waterproof boots without the spraying was a big plus for me.
I also found that the top was too heavy and so they always fell to the sides of the boots.
Last year, I bought these high boots in Chestnut for about $285.
What do you guys think?
