I was inspired by totallycoolnails on youtube to do a Rainbow fish inspired look. I however, did not have the same colour polishes as her so I improvised.
Totally cool nails used:
Base Silver Sally Hansen Celeb City
All other colors are acrylic paint.
Brushes from http://bornprettystore.com
Dotting tools from Ebay
Silver Glitter is OPI Crown Me Already
Top Coat by NYC
-Base colour LA Colors color craze-Live
-L.A. Colors Art deco-black
-L.A. Colors color craze-splash
-Avon speed dry polish- red red
-Avon Speed dry-luxe lavender
-OPI- Crown me already!
I really need to buy green and purple polish and maybe try acrylic paints.
Firstly, I painted my nails in the silver polish (LIVE). After that things got difficult. As you can see I failed horribly lol. It was a bit difficult to get the scale shape using the black striper.
Instead it looked like deformed scales lol. In the future I would by the sally hansen color quick pen in black so I could just draw scales and make life easier.
After I drew the black scales, I just took each colour and randomly filled in the scales. on the silver spots I just added the OPI glitter polish to make it pop more.
Have you ever tried a fish inspired design?
