The other palettes I looked at when I was at Sephora checking out the new NARS x Andy Warhol collection were the Flower Palettes.
There are 3 flower palettes in total and I will be reviewing each one separately as they get pretty lengthy.
The first one I looked at was the most colorful one. There`s 6 colors in total but you can probably only count 4 =P The black base with the grey stripes are actually colors themselves rather than plastic. I was very surprised!
The four flowers have the following colors:
White Base - with a bit of pearl shimmer which is perfect for doing some quick highlights to the bottom inner eyelid for a more dramatic wide-eyed deer look
Dark Lavender - very similar to the other eye and cheek palette, but this one is less pigmented and natural. The purple featured here looks more of a dark amethyst. It`s a very nice regal purple with slight shimmer.
Canary Yellow - even though the site says Gold, this reminds me more of canary yellow more than anything. It has a lot of sparkles in it and its highly pigmented. I don`t think this color suits a lot of people though.
Rose - this would actually be a perfect shade for lips as it is a very deep rose color with shimmer. I have yet to see such a red shade in eyeshadows and this one was definitely an eye opening.
The Grey bands and the Black are matte eyeshadows that surround the flowers. They grey seems to be on top of the black so after the first layer is done, the grey shadow disappears.
Though the palette is quite beautiful in design, I`m wondering how one would go about using it. This one looks pretty self explanatory as the colors don`t match each other. But the way people used it, it looks as if they just swiped the entire thing and put it on the lid...I wouldn`t want those colors mixed together.
I would assume that the white and gold would go together, the red and purple or the white and red and white and purple. I can see the gold and red working together but definitely not the gold and purple.
This also costs $65, which is VERY pricey for a playful palette that you can`t use everyday!
What do you guys think?
