Hi everyone! I hope everyone`s weekends have been well so far :) I just repainted my nails today and tried out my new Essie Good as Gold nail polish. I just painted my nails with the Essie polish and then topped with the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear clear nail color and did a black crackle for my ring finger. I noticed that the Essie polish definitely goes on a lot better without a basecoat. It seemed to want to slip and slide off of my base coat during initial application and clump up when I tried to go in for a second coat. My middle finger is the one without the base coat (although you can`t really tell and it was for no particular reason that it was my middle finger :P). However, it went on very smoothly without the base coat. It looks like it has a chrome finish, pretty much like those really old Sally Hansen Chrome polishes. As for the opacity, it would be a pretty good one coater. I find that this polish doesn`t really need that second coat that oh so many others need. I did do two coats on my nails just because that`s what I`m used to but it looks very opaque with one coat. I`ll either update this post or do another post with a review all about the Essie Good as Gold polish next week, with pictures throughout the week (if I can remember) to show the wear. Anyways, enjoy everyone! And have a great rest of the weekend :)
