Nails of the day: Julie G, Scherer, Essie amp Julep

I know I said I was in a nail polish ban and I know I just picked up some polishes that I`ve yet to use BUT, I discovered I don`t have a single mint color polish, not one ! (that`s my story and I`m sticking to it). I walked into Rite Aid today which I never do because I`ve never been into the store, weird, I know, so yeah, I actually spotted another little gem I`ll post about later AND these two gorgeous polishes.

the mint one is from the Julie G line and I gotta say, I am impressed. it`s a cream finish, extremely opaque, like you could totally do with just one coat - yeah, I know. the bottles are tiny, cheap but they seem to be great polishes. first pic is two coats of Gelato in Venice.

near the Julie G I spotted these other ones, to be honest I`ve never heard of the brand, but they had like 12 polishes and the colors looked really nice, since I was in a "mint" frame of mine I picked up Mist and omg, I am in love. it`s this gorgeous pearly, pastel, sea foam/mint, I will venture out and say it has a touch of chrome in it. I`m sure it`s very sheer on its own but man, it looks stunning over the Julie G polish. it was also very difficult to capture the beauty of it but trust me, its nice !!

I ended up just alternating nails with it since it`s a subtle difference only, I really like the way it turned out. so yeah, if you spot either one of these brands, you should totally pick them up.

of course I had to do my toes as well and I don`t like matchy - matchy but close. I opted for Essie`s Trophy Wife and instead of the usual flowers, I thought wth? and slapped Julep`s Portia over my big toe. OMG !!!! the combination is just gorgeous, I can`t even tell you, I mean you can really see all the different colors in Portia. for a swatch of those two together check out my blog.

so far, I think this is my favorite mani/pedi combos, yup, I went there lol
