I feel sick as a dog so makeup is so far from my mind but my nail were hurting for some polish. I had bought this Essie polish .... oh no, actually I had a cvs coupon for a free Essie polish and the one I got was Lilacism, I didn`t have any other shade like it so why not right?
I don`t normally use a base coat but my nails are getting a little too thin for my taste so I used my Julep nail therapy first, as it seems to go with just about every Essie polish I have, the first coat is streaky and uneven, oh but they always redeem themselves with beautiful colors and finishes don`t they?
you know 99% of the time, I add a little extra, a sticker, a stamp, some glitter, why would today be the exception? lol I thought maybe I would do a little on my pinky or my ring finger nail but when I did just one, I fell in love. I decided to use Julep`s Portia, a clear base with blue/green glitters. I have to say, it translates extremely well over Lilacism, I mean you get what you see on the bottle kind of thing. unfortunately, the thing about Portia is, it is an incredibly hard polish to photograph for me at least. I mean on the nail, it truly doesn`t look that great, you can`t tell how truly beautiful it looks. I`m pretty sure this is one of my favorite polishes at the moment. if you have been hesitant about Portia, I promise you`ll love it !
