I had meant to put this up last week when I wore this nail design to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown. But somehow, I guess time just slipped away from me. So here it is.
As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I bought this Revlon Colorstay Long Wear Nail Enamel - 170 Coastal Surf for $2.00 in one of their clearance bins. The very next day, these nail polishes were re-stacked on the shelves for full price. I think they`re usually $7-$8. However, it looks like CVS is doing another beauty clearance, so these nail polishes might be back on clearance, who knows?
At first I didn`t like this nail polish, because I felt like it was too thick and tough to work with. But when I tried it again, I was really fond of it. It`s supposed to dry to a gel-like shine. In my opinion, yeah it`s somewhat gel-like in that it`s a thicker consistency. It`s about as shiny as most nail polishes are. Because of its thickness, I think the best results are achieved with 2 very thin coats. You can achieve decent opacity with one coat if you`re better at painting your nails than I am, which you probably are lol.
As far as long wearing, yes the nail polish does last for quite a few days. I`m still wearing this on my nails and it`s been about 7 or 8 days. All I notice is some tip wear and the base of my nails shows a gap where my nails have grown out, which is typical of most of my nail polishes.
However, I`ve never had many issues with nail polish staying on for more than a couple of days. I`m also usually too lazy to put on a base coat or top coat, because I don`t own any of good quality. My clear coats just mess up my nail designs and run the different colors together. Most of the chipping on my nails is usually caused within the first day of painting my nails because I clumsily bump my fingers into things before the nail polish has hardened. I have a problem with nail polish drying, but not yet hardening. Does anyone else have that problem??
I was on the fence about purchasing this, because I know I have enough blue nail polishes, but I love anything in the blue family and $2 was hard to refuse. Among my nail polish polish collection, I do think it`s a unique blue. Whenever I look at my nails, I instantly think of the sky, so I guess I`ll refer to this as my sky blue nail polish.
This looks best...from a distance lol. Hey I`m no expert at nail art and I thought it was a good attempt for an amateur. I used:
Wet n Wild Black - Creme for the branches and applied it with a toothpick.
These nail polishes are on sale at Walgreen`s for $0.69 cents again for the time being.
The lilac color is Forever21 - Lavender.
I dotted on the white with Sinful Colors Striper - Bad Chick.
Sorry this is blurry, but I still thought it was a pretty picture.
