Yesterday I watched a bunch of videos on YouTube on how to create the perfect ombre nails. I was thinking about getting them done at the salon but they tend to be really pricey so I decided to see if I could do them on my own. Basically a fun DIY project for myself!
Last night I was looking through my polish collection and decided to base the ombre nails on shades of blue. In total, I used 6 different polishes to create this look from start to finish.
The first thing I did was paint my nails with a base coat. I used Sephora by OPI`s Strengthener Base coat. I let that dry, then applied two coats of Essie`s Smooth Sailing for my base color. I then let that dry, and applied Skin Tight Denim Creme by NYC to the tips of my nails. After that, I applied OPI`s Simmer and Shimmer to where the navy color (Skin Tight Denim Creme) ended and then dragged it halfway down my nail. Then I took Revlon`s Blue Mosaic polish and went over the whole nail except the very bottom of my nail where my base color peeks out. After letting everything dry I applied a top coat by Sally Hansen called Kwik Dry.
I think that this nail look turned out really well and I love the look of how all the colors fade together. It did take awhile but it was deffinitely worth it! The next two colors I want to try are black and gold- I think that they would look amazing together!
