I figured I`d do this post because it might be helpful to those of you who have a smaller nail polish collection like myself but are looking for simple but effective storage solutions.
These plastic containers are sold separately but they`re stackable. I got them at walmart for $2-$3 each. They`re meant for shoes but I like them because they`re deep enough for the polishes of different sizes to stand upright, which makes them easier to see (and I think it`s also the best way to store them).
Depending on how many polishes you have, I would say this holds a decent amount. One box hold about 40-50 polishes of different shapes and sizes.
I don`t own any high end polishes (like Chanel, Dior etc) or many expensive ones. Maybe just a few Essies and Orly here and there, so for me, its not important or necessary to have to display the polishes themselves.
Theses plastic containers are relatively easy to "customize". You can line them with wrapping paper or something with a design. Or you can do what I did and just hot glue on some ribbon. Some stores even have them in different colors/shades.
If you have fewer polishes, I would recommend purchasing drawer liners to help prevent the bottles from sliding and shifting around when you open and close the drawers.
I also like that other items can be stored on top of the boxes. I keep these under my desk side by side with another stack of two (that I keep qtips, extra makeup wipes, cotton balls etc), and on top of them I rest my stereo.
Hope this helps some of you!
