Nail Polish Haul
After a long week at work, I decided I needed a pick me up and stopped by Walmart on my way home this weekend to see if I could find Essies Shine of the Times, since I know they carry Essie polishes.
I have been trying to get my hands on one of these flakie nail polishes for a while, but they are often so much harder to find in Canada. Even the Finger Paints flakie collection was only released at a few of the Sally stores near me.
So I headed to Walmart and headed straight to the make-up section. I browsed through the Essie section and couldnt find Shine of the Times. The only thing they had from the Luxeffects collection was a few bottles of As Gold as it Gets.
I was a little disappointed, but decided to roam around the aisles seeing if there was anything else I liked. I came across a new display for some Wet and Wild nail polishes. I own a few of the Wet and Wild Shine polishes and have been generally impressed with the formulation. They are relatively inexpensive (under 2 dollars at most places) yet still apply and last very well.
So when I saw the display for these new Wet and Wild Fast Dry polishes, I decided to try a few of them out. They had mostly metallic shades including the 2 I got: A purple shade called Buffy the Violet Slayer and a holographic grey/green/mauve colour called Grays Anatomy :) I think one of my favourite parts about this line is the names lol
Anyways, after heading home, I was going through my mail and some of the flyers that came along with it, when I noticed that Shoppers Drug Mart had Shine of the Times in its ad. It also listed Essie polishes on sale for 8 dollars (they usually sell for at least $9.99). I was supposed to drop my little brother off at a friends house, so I decided to drop by the Shoppers by my house. Unfortunately for me, they had a display with the entire Luxeffects collection, but they were sold out of Shine of the Times. After dropping my little brother off, I dropped by the Shoppers near his friends house, but of course, they were all sold out as well. Before heading home, I decided to head to the Shoppers in the same plaza as the Walmart I had just visited an hour earlier, and lucky for me, they had my coveted Shine of the Times!
So after driving in a big circle, I was able to get me my Essie polish. I cant wait to try out my new shades... so be on the lookout soon :)
