I really had no idea what to name this nail look.
I did this during finals weeks which was about 3 weeks ago. I wasn`t sure what I wanted to do, I just knew I wanted to incorporate orange into the nail look. I usually pick colors from my box of untried polishes but during that time I wasn`t in the mood for any of those colors. If you haven`t been following my post I`ve been really into incorporating 2 colors into my nail looks. I was thinking of doing half moon nails but I didn`t have the patience for it so I did a gradient instead.
To do a gradient nail look, you need a make up sponge. Make up sponges are only a few bucks with about 20+ sponges and you can find them at most drug and beauty supply stores. Before you start to sponge on the color on your nail you need a base, which is usually white. In my nail look I used <strong>Essie</strong> in "French Affair" as my base. You could sponge on a straight line by applying a straight line of the 2+ nail polishes onto the make up sponge. I opted for more of an uneven look and did it messily. I just dropped a few drops of <strong>Essie</strong> "Tart Deco"</strong> and went on sponging until I was satisfied with the gradient.
I wasn`t really satisfied with the look so I decided to add an effect polish on it. I used <strong>LA Colors Fruity Scent</strong> nail polish in "Sparkling Peach" which is a pink and gold shimmer polish. The nail look still felt a little dull. After about 5 minute rummaging through my box of untried I chose to add on <strong>WnW Spoiled</strong> nail polish in "Jewelry Heist". I decided to do a glitter gradient on the side of my nail in a triangular shape.
I applied the glitter one by one with a toothpick onto my thumb and ring finger. I took a sheet of aluminum foil and dropped a few drops of "Jewelry Heist" onto it. Then I quickly applied the glitter one by one before the polish dries onto the aluminum foil.
