Nail Look: A Luminary Firefly!

Here is another color block nail look I did a couple of weeks ago. In this look I used two Sinful Colors nail polishes from the Sheer Shimmer collection.

Initially, I only painted my nails with Firefly, which is a bright yellow shade with silver shimmers but then I saw someone I follow on Instagram post up a gorgeous nail look using blue and purple with a silver strip of glitter in the middle. The nail looks was soo simple but soo cute that I had to try it out. So then I took Luminary, which is an orange that is slightly muted (it`s not very bright compared to other oranges I own) with silver shimmers and applied it to half of my nail. Then for the glitter strip I used an Art Deco in silver glitter that I purchased from Dollar Tree.

Both Firefly & Luminary are sheer polishes but you only need 3 coats to reach full opacity. I was expecting 4 coats truthfully so I was able that 3 coats was only needed. I painted the first 2 coats on my nail slightly on the thinner side. Application of both of these polishes were smooth, I did get a few bald spots with Firefly but after the third coat I was able to fill it in.

Other products I used were Sally Hansen Hard as Nails as a base coat and INM Out the Door as a top coat.

BTW: Today (Saturday April 28, 2012) is the last day to go to Walgreens and buy some Sinful Colors nail polishes for only $0.99.

What are your favorite two colors together in the color block trend? Do you like wearing bright color nails?

Hope you enjoy! =D
