Hey guys! So I was browsing http://thebeautydepartment.com the other day (fabulous website) and they have tons and tons of nail tutorials! I love love love doing my nails as most of you who follow me know. I switch up my nails almost everyday! They have a couple tutorials using tape to make the designs, so I wanted to try one!
<strong>What To Do:</strong>
1. Select the colors you want to work with. In this case, I used Sally Hansen`s Gilty Pleasure, and L`Oreal`s Now You See Me. I love Gilty Pleasure so much! It`s the perfect gold color and it`s not too flashy or tacky looking. Now You See Me is also a gorgeous teal blue. I like how calming it looks and I thought it went well with the gold.
2. Pain it on the tape. I just used regular Scotch Tape as my canvas. I painted a thick strip of gold and blue polish and waited for them to dry.
3. Cut and paste! The next steps are super easy! All you need are scissors and a steady hand. I cut the thick strips into little strips (size of your choice) and just simply stuck them onto my nails! After that, you`ll notice you have a lot of extra material on the sides. All you have to do is grab one of those nail tools and cut the excess tape off.
4. Seal it! After all the tape is in place, I just used a clear top coat and sealed my handiwork!
I have to be honest, this manicure does NOT last that long. The tape will eventually lose its stickiness and the strips will start to fall off. I still really like this method though! It gives you the chance to be creative without spending a lot of money and time. Plus, for someone like me who likes to change my polish almost everyday, the fact that it comes off easier is a bonus for me :)
Hope you guys liked this little nail tutorial!
