One of the biggest hair growth myths is that brushing your hair 100 strokes a day will make it grow faster. You probably heard this from your grandma or your mother when you were young. While some valuable lessons can be learned from the older generations, this is not one of them. In fact, brushing your hair too often can cause more harm than good. Frequent hair brushing may lead to excess breakage. It is however good to brush your hair because it distributes the natural oils to the ends of your hair from your scalp. This is important because the ends of your hair are dead and they can really use to oil from your scalp to stay healthy. Another tip is that when brushing your hair, brush from the bottom up. Although that may seem strange, starting from short strokes at the bottom of your hair and working your way up helps to get rid of the tangles without pulling your hair out.
