Today I was having a conversation with my friend and during the course of this conversation we began to talk about hair. I am on a journey (and I am determined) to grow long, waist length, hair. My friend was telling me about how she heard that getting trims will make your hair longer. When I heard this I immediately began to tell her otherwise. That is simply just a myth. Trimming hair does not make it grow any faster, why? Because that is simply not possible. Hair grows out of your head at the roots, it is not in any way affected by how frequently you trim your hair. Any hair that you see sticking out of your head is already essentially dead (notice how it does not hurt to trim your hair?). Because your hair is essentially dead, this is why it is extra important to take precautions when it comes to restoring moisture in your hair and preventing damage. However, if your hair is split or it is severely damaged, it probably will do you more good to get it trimmed. There is no use in having long hair if it is dead.
Do you guys have any secret tips and tricks for growing long healthy hair? Please leave them down below.
