I`m going to try and keep this post pretty short, as I have a lot more posts coming up (I can`t seem to control myself). This is going to be my top 5 blushes. This was incredibly hard for me to narrow down seeing as I`m blush addicted. Blush is my favorite beauty product. I think it just wakes up the face, and for a student like myself, some blush and a curled eyelashes are fabulous at making me look less tired than I am (although the whole falling asleep in class thing kind of gives me away). Ok, ramble over...
-NXY Cream Blush in Natural
-Mac Blush in Angel
-Mac Blush in Springsheen
-Josie Maran Cream Blush is Sunkissed
Nars Blush in Deep Throat
Clockwise: Sunkissed, Natural, Springsheen, Angel, and Deep Throat
Angel by Mac is probably my most favorite winter blush. In the pan it looks incredibly light and almost a little dusty, but on the skin it looks so natural and instantly wakes up my skin. Unfortunately, I have to really layer it on to get the color to show up, but because the texture is so light, I don`t look cakey at all. It also doesn`t show up in the summer months as I become tanned (a good dupe with the same effect on darker skin is NXY`s powder blusher in Peach-a decidedly un-peachy color). This is truly that been in the wind/cold for a few minutes true pink color.
Deep Throat by Nars is one of those blushes that looks perfect on anyone. I know a lot of people are die hard fans of Orgasm through and through but I would choose this one over Orgasm any day. I feel like it has a lot less shimmer, and is a little more flattering on my olive skin. I would definitely reccomend this to anyone with a yellow/olive undertone. As with all Nars Blushes the texture is AMAZING.
Springsheen by Mac is one of those blushes that looks scary in the pan, because it`s so bright and the gold within it is very apparent, but on the skin it gives such a beautiful peachy glow to the skin. Applied lightly it can look like you got a little sun on the face, and when applied a little darker it looks like the perfect peachy blush. The texture is so fine on this blush and makes it really easy to blend out, and it also looks great during any season.
Natural by NXY. This is one of those products where I bought it on a whim, and initially wasn`t very impressed by the product. At first, I kept on trying to apply it with my fingers, and it looked incredibly streaky. Then I tried to use a stippling brush, and while it was definitely an improvement from my fingers, I found that it still looked a little splotchy on my face, which was unfortunate, because the color really is perfection. Then, one day I was at home playing around with my makeup and by chance I decided to give it another go. This time, however, I used a small sonia kashuk foundation brush. Let me tell you, I was AMAZED. It blended perfectly, gave the cheeks a really healthy looking glow, and lasted for about 6 hours without smudging or fading (a killer amount of time for a cream blush). This is probably my all time favorite blush, and I have and will continue to repurchase it forever.
Sunkissed by Josie Maran is a gorgeous color. A rich tanish color with a hint of peach and hint of mauve. Sort of an unusual combination, but that`s what really drew me to it. As with the NXY cream blush, I apply this with a small foundation brush (that would take foundation application forever, by the way) and blend it into the apples of my cheeks and then fade it out. It looks spectacular during the summer, however, on my winter skin it`s a little too dark for a blush, but looks great blended at the temples and under my cheek bones.
