I recently finished my NARS, Lancome, and Estee Lauder foundations. I`d had them for a long time and while I loved them, I was excited to try some new ones as well! It was bittersweet when I found out that the Teint Idole by Lancome that I had was discontinued, because I do like trying new foundations, but at the same time I loved that foundation for my skin in the winter. I knew they had replaced it with a long-lasting version and since I do like the brand for face makeup, I decided to swing by the counter.
Now what happened next still makes me happy, lol. The lady at the counter was super nice and helped me find the right colour for me (which is a first, I always get colour matched to something darker). When she went to go find my bottle, she realized that she didn`t have my colour. In an effort (on her part) to sell me the foundation, she offered to let me buy a brand new counter bottle (which has 50% more than the bottles we buy), for the same price as the regular foundation! Now, I this meant I couldnt have the pretty bottle (which I like to have if I pay as much as you do for these high-end foundations), but couldnt pass the opportunity up to have 50% more for the same price! Then on top of that, they were having a gift with purchase so I got a bunch of freebies too!
If you follow my posts you know that I do love my high end makeup. I don`t have a huge collection, but I`ve really invested in the products I own. That`s not to downplay drugstore products (which are so awesome these days that for a lotta things you don`t even need to go high end), but I do find a difference between the two. I especially feel it on my acne-prone oily/combination skin, when it comes to foundation. A smart way to buy high end makeup though is to make sure you`re buying it with promotions (so you get freebies, eliminating the need for those hit or miss beauty subscriptions), and that you don`t buy more than you can actually use up (so as to avoid wasting product).
I will do a review on this product (and the freebies) once I`ve used it for a while, but I definitely love it as of right now (I`ve been using it for 2-3 weeks).
