While I was visiting Berkeley with my friends, they took me here to a restaurant called The Sunny Side Cafe. They have two locations, one in Berkeley and one in Albany. When I first got here, I really couldn`t believe how small the location was! However, it turned out that in addition to the few small tables they have downstairs, they also have outdoor seating where the waitresses will bring your food to you as well as as upstair area - which was where my friends and I were seated at.
I ended up ordering an item called "The Alameda" which had The Alameda mushrooms, Hickory smoked ham, roasted
tomatoes and emmenthal cheese, sandwiched between two
pieces of savory French toast. Topped with two eggs over-easy, Hollandaise sauce, and a balsamic reduction. I think this was around $12 or so but it was SO worth it. Every bite was amazing and the portion was huge! I ended up being full for the rest of the day!
They also had something called "The Special Alameda" and that looked amazing as well.
I also ordered a "Mimosa with fresh orange juice". This was around $6 since it does contain alcohol and was expensive for what it was, but it was indeed a treat =]
