My London Experience

I recently went to London for 9 days and it was fantastic! It is definitely a touristy city. If you go into an attraction or restaurant that caters to the tourist crowd then expect the most superb customer service. If you go into a local hangout then don`t expect the same service. Everyone is polite but they may still bring you a dirty glass. :)

We did do all the touristy attractions but it was so much fun that I don`t care!
Here is a list of things we did/saw:
-Big Ben- (Didn`t tour the Parliament building)
-London Eye- ( Our hotel was right by it so I didn`t feel the need to ride it b/c I saw it everyday)
-British Museum- (Fantastic/Free/All Day Attraction)
-Natural History Museum- (Free/Crowded/Full of kids/Not recommended for couples)
-Tower of London- (Buy Tickets online to avoid the crowds/ Really cool place!)
-Buckingham Palace Tour of the State Rooms- (Not Free/ Really amazing to see the State Rooms/Definitely recommend!)
-Westminster Abbey- (Not Free/This is by far the coolest church I have ever seen in my life!/ Recommend but be ready for crowds!)
-Harrods- (Only attempt this insanity if you really just want something from there and are willing to over pay for the item!)
-Parks- (The parks are an amazing place to just sit and people watch/ Hyde Park has a really cool thing called Speakers Corner where someone can literally stand on a soapbox and speak his mind on any subject other than the queen or the monarchy I think.)
-Trafalgar Square- (Recommend to grab lunch and go crawl up onto the statue and people watch while you eat. Its an amazing experience!)
-Imperial War Museum- (Free/Definitely something to see if you are interested in the 1st and 2nd World Wars. If not its not for you)
-Bath-(2 hrs away/Ancient Roman Bath Site/ Recommend!!/Part of a tour)
-Bath Abbey-(Requires a donation to enter/Small but beautiful!)
-Lacock- (Cool place but wouldn`t drive out of the way to see/ Nice as part of the tour)
-Stonehenge-(Book a Private tour if possible to go inside the rocks and avoid the crowds!/If you appreciate what they are then you will love this place/Recommend highly!)
-Cleopatra`s Needle- (It was actually brought from Egypt and its a neat quick thing to visit and take pictures of)

I`m sure there are things I have forgotten but its a really cool place to visit and if you just walk around random streets you will find beautiful architecture, hidden parks and amazing statues.
Texts and photos are mine.
