Hello Luuuxers!! I`m an avid reader, so I thought I`d do a mini review of all the books I read in the month of June!!
The first two books I read were Uglies and Pretties from the Ugly series. These books were very popular back when I was in middle school, but I just got around to reading them now. It`s a kind of dystopian-future story where everyone is `ugly` until 16, when they get an operation to make them `pretty`, but Tally Youngblood`s friend Shay runs away before the surgery, and she must hunt her down before Tally herself is allowed to receive the surgery. These two books were an enjoyable read, and I plan on reading the final two books.
Next was Paper Towns by John Green. It was announced recently that this book was going to be made into a movie, so I picked up the book to see what it was about. I love John Green as an author, and this book did not disappoint! It`s a story about kids graduating high school, and how idealizing a person and putting them on a pedestal can be a quite dangerous thing to do.
Next was Gone Girl, another soon-to-be-movie. This story follows Nick Dunne, who`s wife disappears on their anniversary. At first everyone is sure of Nick`s innocence, but as time goes on and secrets come out, it seems as if Nick may have killed his wife. I really enjoyed this book, especially since it kept you on your toes. There were so many plot twists that I never saw coming! A great read, and a new favorite author!
My favorite book that I read this month was City of Heavenly Fire, the final book in the Mortal Instruments series. I`m absolutely obsessed with this series and this author. If you haven`t read this series yet, run out to the nearest bookstore now and pick up the first book! Cassandra Clare is a brilliant author who actually knows how to wrap a series up without completely ruining everything. I`m so excited for her next series, The Dark Artifices!!
What books have you read this month Luuuxers? I`m always open to book suggestions!! If you know of a book that I need to read, let me know in the comments!
